The concept of foods being under the GM model really concerns me. Giant Monsato should in no way have so much control over our food supply.
That a man’s organic way of farming (the cleanest and healthiest of all) and livelihood is ruined by GM cropping is a disgrace. Shame on WA government policy to allow this to happen.

I would like to support this cause, I’ve been concerned for a long time, since attending as a mature age student at Adelaide University in WM-about 20 years ago-, when during a a lecture, the lecturer advocated, if not told us, that GM was the way to go in planting vines in areas that were not suitable from growing grapevines as they could be GM modified. We had a stand up argument, the students cheered, the “very young-academic” lecturer left the auditorium, the subject was not raised again.Shades of Canola-perhaps slightly of the subject matter, but go for it.
Need more support? just read about any independant studies that have been done, need a little more financial support, just ask, I’m a little conservative, hence my small donation-I’m not up to date with in how you launch petitions etc. When I mention this to my wife-comment was- double your donation.

Go for it mate. As an ex farmer bloody politicians, particularly of the conservative side couldn’t give a rats arse about ordinary people except when it affects their over inflated incomes. It doesn’t matter what state you are in they are all the same
    Best of Luck.

Go for it mate. As an ex farmer my first comment was rejected because of my direct language.
So here goes again. When you are trying to get a fair go don’t rely on the politicians as they put their over inflated salaries ahead of the ordinary person’s problems. They tend to go to water if what you want is against the party lines. In rural areas here in NSW the only one’s that got results were the independents. The average politician seems to think bovine excreta baffles brains.
    Again BEST OF LUCK.

Hi Steve, I am with you all the way, I read a book last year called Wheat Belly and all Australians should read this; it is incredible, you will be shocked at what governments have done to our foods and why we are getting more and more diseases. In the 1950s when there was world famine it was decided to hybridize wheat, that way it grew faster with a lot bigger head and the actual plant is a lot smaller, hence a lot more product in a shorter time frame, then more bread etc could be made to feed the world!. Sadly this were never any trials on humans or animals 1st, so what has this done to our wheat industry? How many aisles in a supermarket have nothing with wheat? think about it..
Read the book. Go for it Steve and the very best of luck to you

I’m not against GM foods and I believe that Steve’s neighbour should have the right to grow crops using Monsanto’s seeds, if that’s what he wants and he takes care not to cause contamination of other people’s crops.

I strongly believe in defending the rights of farmers and, in this case, it’s Steve Marsh (and others like him) whose rights must be upheld. I’ve pledged to donate to the fund, but I’m happy to add more later if it’s needed.

  • Terry Barratt February 20, 2014 at 2:02 pm

Damien: While I don’t agree with your support for GM crops, your support may have some (limited) justification if farmers using Monsanto’s products could guarantee that the pollen and seeds from their crops could be contained within the bounds of their properties, but they can’t! This obvious fact is a no brainer. But good on you for supporting Steve.

Everybody needs to know the evil empire that is Monsanto and all genetically modified foods. They are pervasive and destructive in the USA and we can’t let it happen here. Monsanto is a chemical company…..think Agent Orange! They are about death not life. Why do you think bees are dying en masse? We have to fight back and educate people for all our sakes.

I’m sick to death of only a minority ruling this planet! The multis don’t care about us there are much better ways of producing food in abundance without all this GMO crap they just want to control the food industry for $$$ and make us sick at the same time so we then get on the pharmaceutical gravy train which they also control and reap the big $$.

It’s not hard to work out what they are doing just wish the majority of the public would wake up!! We out number them but we continually accept what they put in front of us!

WE ALL NEED TO JUST SAY ‘NO’- good on you Steve
